TERMS OF SERVICE

1. Scope & Acceptance

CAEXV provides a neutral, zero-access system for generating cryptographic records that attest to the existence of a digital state at a specific point in time.

By accessing or using the CAEXV website or services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”).
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the service.

CAEXV is operated by:

2. Service Description

CAEXV provides a zero-access digital existence record system.

The service enables users to generate a cryptographic record that confirms that a specific digital state existed at a specific moment in time.

CAEXV provides technical records only.
It does not assess, interpret, judge, or validate content, authorship, legality, ownership, or truth.

Core characteristics of the service:

  • client-side cryptographic hashing (SHA-256)

  • timestamped registry entry

  • generation of a unique proof identifier

  • optional generation of a private verification artifact (“Gold Card”) for Pro users

  • public verification of registered hashes

All cryptographic processing of files occurs locally in the user’s browser.

CAEXV never uploads, receives, stores, processes, or accesses user files or file contents.

3. Service Plans

3.1 Basic Proof

The Basic plan provides:

  • cryptographic proof of existence

  • timestamped registry entry

  • registration of a file hash

  • public verification of the existence record

The Basic plan does not include any private verification artifact and does not enable any personal attribution.

3.2 Pro Proof

The Pro plan includes all Basic features and additionally provides:

  • generation of a private verification artifact (“Gold Card”)

  • an additional verification layer that can only be completed by the holder of that artifact

The Pro plan does not establish legal ownership, authorship, or identity.
It enables a private technical linkage between a registered record and the holder of a secret artifact.

4. Zero-Access Architecture

CAEXV is built on a strict Zero-Access architecture.

CAEXV does not:

  • upload files

  • store files

  • process file contents

  • analyze semantics or meaning

  • retain private verification artifacts

CAEXV servers receive only:

  • cryptographic hashes

  • timestamps

  • system identifiers required for verification

Because CAEXV never has access to file contents, it cannot reconstruct, infer, leak, or disclose user data.

5. User Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for:

  • retaining your original files

  • safeguarding any generated verification artifacts

  • understanding that modified files produce different cryptographic hashes

CAEXV cannot recover lost files, secrets, or artifacts.

You agree not to use CAEXV for unlawful, infringing, or abusive purposes.

6. Payments & Payment Processing

Payments are processed by Stripe as the independent payment processor.

Stripe is responsible for:

  • payment processing

  • invoicing

  • tax handling where applicable

  • chargebacks and disputes

CAEXV does not store or process payment card or billing information.

Stripe Privacy Policy:

7. No Legal Guarantee

CAEXV provides technical records only.

CAEXV does not guarantee:

  • legal admissibility

  • recognition by courts or authorities

  • evidentiary weight in any jurisdiction

  • legal outcomes of any kind

Users are solely responsible for determining whether CAEXV records are suitable for their intended use.

8. Availability & Changes

CAEXV is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

Features may be modified, suspended, or discontinued where legally permissible.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • CAEXV is not liable for indirect or consequential damages

  • CAEXV is not liable for data loss caused by user error

  • total liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific service

Mandatory statutory liability remains unaffected.

10. Termination

Users may stop using CAEXV at any time.

CAEXV may restrict access in cases of misuse or violations of these Terms.

11. Intellectual Property

All CAEXV software, systems, and branding remain the property of CAEXV.

Users retain all rights to their original files.
CAEXV does not claim ownership, authorship, or rights over user content.

12. Governing Law

German law applies.
Mandatory consumer protection provisions remain unaffected.

13. Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated.
Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.
